I just found out about the site when it showed up in the paper as being shut down. Kinda like taking away fire crackers: If a few fools can’t handle it, they take it away from everyone.

Anyways, I’d be more than happy to find out some of the tricks also. Ideas?

Yeah.. I think that the shutting down of zippotricks.com is PC run amuck… And what really gets me is that if their kid came in and preformed some of these “harmless” tricks that they’d actually dig em.. But no.. They are probably just .. oh nevermind.. hit me up if you ever find a good website.. as for a new name, how’s about this..

well,im a firefighter myself, and i also love zippos, i never got to see the site, but i would be willing to pay a subscription to learn some tricks. i mean porn is worse as far as kids go and you can still get it on the net, anyways i didnt know there was a resourse for this till it was shut douwn if anybody finds a web simmilar pls let me know

I found a zippo on the road a couple of years ago and i wanted to find somethin fun to do and i found zippotricks.com. Im only 14 and i used to go there a lot to try new stuff and i go there today and the FUCKIN FEDS shut it down. send me the new website when you get it up.

No, the feds didn’t shut them down, the owner shut it down after getting pressure from goverment officals. And to that guy who said Zippotricks is copyrighted, yeh, of course it is, but that only applies to the media, so if anyone wanted to make a site, they can, but just gotta make their own videos and pictures. So u can bite my ass. To anyone who’s thinking of making a site for zippo tricks, go for it!

I am a zippolover and I have to say, that I really don’t see any reason for putting this website down.
There are many many other things which are really dangerous and those things got huge fanbases over the internet. For example there are Airsoft, Juggling with Knives or Bottles, Skating etc etc…you probably won’t find an end for this list. So why should zippos be dangerous?

i think if you REALLY look at it from an unbiased point of view, IMO zippos are dangerous…fire is dangerous…BUT they only shut down ZP.com bc itz popular, which is pretty gay…i there are tons of skateboard trick sites which involve thousands of kids and teens alike that go and break their leg, arm, neck and anything you can imagine…there are kiddy porn sites, there are car sites that teach you how to drift, what they don’t tell you is that if you’re retarded enough to attempt it on anywhere other than nowhere, you will probably kill yourself given the speed you’re going at and how you can’t stop and start your drift like *snap* you will probably kill innocent civilians who just happened to drive by…but zippotricks killing are like 1 in a (amount of ppl on zippotricks) so i take this time out to say…WTF

lightertricks.com blocks US IPs, but there are two ways around it. 1st, u can use a proxy server, pr second, u can just go to www.lightertricks.com/index1.html

“Despite our best efforts, some still find the site controversial,” the statement continued. “Based on this controversy, continued internal concerns, and the inability to adequately restrict site access by individuals under the age of 16, the company has decided that Zippo should no longer be associated with this or any site that promotes tricking.”

The statement also said that the planned nightclub tour of lighter trick demonstrations would instead become a “musical tour with details to be announced?.”

Booth said the company would use legal action if any other site infringed on the company’s trademark and promoted tricks with Zippo lighters.

Bad enough they got away with this crap dont need the innocent gettin screwd.
