Voicemeeting: Conference call service
20th August 2004 by Simon
I’m having to gather a number of people together in a number of conference calls over the next few weeks, so have been looking around for easy to use solutions that are reasonably priced.
I came across Voicemeeting which appear to hit the criteria. There’s a simple Web interface to set up the calls which will send out invitations via email or SMS (shame they using popups for it). Each of the participants is responsible for paying for their call, which is a reasonable 5p/min and there are no additional charges.
The last time I had to arrange this type of service a few years ago, the services were only run by telco’s and they cost a considerable amount of money to setup and use, so it’s pleaseing to see that things have changed. I would imagine that the infrastructure they have in place is pretty simple, and they’re quite possibility using SIP to connect the calls.
