UK domain change
2nd July 2002 by Simon
The UK domain naming authority, Nominet, have decided that domains that were registered pre-1996, before Nominet took over the running of the registry, will be brought under the same contract and terms & conditions as their other domains.
Owners of these domains have three months to alert Nominet that they still want to keep the domains - failing this they will loose the rights to the names.
The other change is owners of these pre-1996 names will be charged by Nominet - a total about-face change given these name were registered without cost and have always been free.
