The loss of AT&T, Cambrdge, UK

A good article about the loss of the AT&T labs in Cambridge, nee the Olivetti Research Labs. Sadly AT&T are making the decision to close it down, after a failure to sell it to Intel. My contact with them came about five years ago when I came across their excellent ‘virtual network computer’ or VNC. It’s enables full remote control of any machine that it’s running on, as if it was running on your desktop AND it’s always been free. This was one of many great products they came up with and it’s a great shame to hear of their demise.
