The Enzo Ferrari in Finchley
2nd September 2004 by Simon
Walking home last night on the way back from EGN I was amazed to see an Enzo Ferrari parked at the top of my road. Clearly others reacted in a similar way as, not only did a group of around 15-20 start to form on the pavement, but at times the main road was blocked with static traffic too.
Now I knew they were rare, only 399 of them were ever made, but what I didn’t know was how expensive they were. When released in 2002 they cost $625,000! Despite this (or because of it?) I understand that they all sold, even before the full specifications were released. Goodness know what they cost these days.
The Enzo Ferrari is essentially a road going F1 car, that has a V-12 engine providing 660-hp, carbon-ceramic brake discs, a six-speed gearbox controlled with paddles on the steering wheel and does 0-60 in 3.5 seconds and tops out at 220 mph. If you want more info, Google can guide you to tons of it [Google +the+enzo+ferrari].
Happily I was carrying a camera, having been at EGN, so here’s the shots.
