Prince Charles - UK Google top search
5th January 2004 by Simon
The Register is covering a list of the most popular search engine queries in 2003. They have Prince Charles as the top query for UK Google users.
This site has had huge amounts of traffic for people searching for “Prince Charles rumour“, as it was originally coming back as the first result at Google, later to slip a few places down.
The peak to interest was on 15.Nov.03 when there were nearly 20,000 hits on this site in this one day. The vast majority of them coming in through the Prince Charles rurmor story.
I found it interesting that of the tens of thousands of people who read the page, only six people decided to leave comment about it.
Given the popularity of the piece and it sensitive nature, I’m assuming I won’t have to struggle with the dilemma of accepting a civil honour this year.
