Less Instant Messaging - LIM
18th March 2005 by Simon
Your blog should be but one face of your personal storage.
Using the Single Text Interface STI mentioned yesterday, you can easily mark content as private … for select groups, individuals, or everyone.
The server stores the entry, assigns security and alerts the relevant recipients. Either by email or ideally directly with the recipients ping server (more on that later).
The advantage of the last being to bypass overburdened, spam-ridden email. Think of it as writing more directly. Like a long form of IM, but less … Instant. Less Instant Messaging.
Imagine that, communication without spam.
Access to the content could be through a templates giving a different looking site for each group, or individual if you wished so.
These templates could including contact information about yourself. You decide which information show, or not - for example, just work phone or home number as well.
All entries marked Everyone go to your public blog.
