James Brown dies
26th December 2006 by Simon
He was the sort of person who I’d always imagined would just carry on living, but the fellow’s gone and died. The influence James Brown’s had over music is hard to quantify - it is just so vast.
Many people found him arrogant in his interviews where he made it perfectly clear how much effect he thought he’d had. He was also right to say that he should have been an incredibly wealthy man, because of that influence … and being productive over such a long period. His view was that being born black lay as the source of the reasons. It could well be, there’s some rotten buggers in any business.
A very talented man - who added to the existance of humanity.
