Interactive TV harder to use than PC?
29th November 2001 by Simon
Saw a funny (funny as in sad) headline today ‘Interactive TV harder to use than PC‘ (site may need registration). It say the 1000 sample were asked to rate 19 products in order of difficulty to use. In order of hardness to use, iTV=4th hardest, computer=5th, a digital TV set=6th and VCR=7th. Only flying an aeroplane, using a sewing machine and riding a motorbike were considered by the sample to be more difficult.
Clearly lots of unanswered questions in the piece. I’d love to know if the user had difficulty with the remote or was it the iTV programming. If so, what programmes were used.
I know this is deeply unfashionable to say, but will users actually interactive with TV programs?
