Brown’s move for power?
I just listened to the speeches at Robin Cooks funeral - the obvious headline is John McCririck’s “Where’s Tony Blair?”, but the more interesting comments were from Gordon Brown (Chancellor of the Exchequer. A Very well delivered, rousing speech, that I thought had some sharp barbs.
“A man of integrity”; “didn’t shrink from pursing his ideals”, with Brown ending along the lines of, “We should have valued him more in life.” - As UK people will know, Robin Cook resigned from the cabinet in protest against the Iraq (yes UK it’s Iraaaq, not Irak).
The underlying message from Brown - I not only agree with Cook, but am siding with him.
At a time when the people who think the attacks are down down to Blair’s decision to take the UK to GW2 are joining those of us who thought the war shouldn’t have taken place in the first place, is this a power move from Brown for the top job?
