This type of thing really appears to me. Tucked away in the storage of archive.org are the photos taken while Google was starting in 1999.
There are nine shots (taken on what was probably then a state-of-the-art 640×480 digital camera) of the various pieces of kit, much of it donated, that were gathered together to run the early version of Google, while it was a research project at Stanford.
There ought to be grants for people to dig through archive.org and find this type of stuff.
