Gmail Drive Windows extension
7th October 2004 by Simon
A while back Richard Jones came up with the great idea of using the 1Gb of storage that GMail provides free of charge. He called it GmailFS (Gmail Filesystem) and wrote it in Python. The only barrier to a lot of people using this was that Python isn’t commonly run on desktop machines.
Well done to Bjarke Viksoe who has now written a version that runs under Windows. Simply install it and it appears as a drive under My Computer. Don’t expect it to be 100% yet as it’s still in beta.
