It was still a shock when George died. It was the last thing I thought he'd do - Angie Best

Kevin Marks’s blog pointed me to a great geographic London tube map that shows the flow of the rail lines around the city rather than the world-famous 1933 schematic design by Finchley dweller, Harry Beck.

My favourite tube travelling tool/map is The Way Out Tube Map which shows the carriage that is nearest the exit of each London station, in either direction of travel. If you’re travelling in rush hour, this map will save serious time and frustration. You find yourself just stepping of the train directly to the exit, rather than having to fight your way along narrow platforms.

[If you want a background on the history of the London Tube map, there’s a great, comprehensive guide with images of all of the major revision from 1889.]

Yes - big shame … it appears that the site with the graphic on it is no longer in use.

If you find it, I’d love to hear its new location.
