Eubank protests Iraq - without irony
15th October 2003 by Simon
Erstwhile ex-boxer, Chris Eubank has driven his huge truck up from his home in Brighton to Downing Street, parked outside and sounded the, undoubtedly loud, horn for a minute - as a protest against the Iraq war. Getting himself arrested in the process.
I’ve watched a couple of his living-with-the-Eubanks shows and I’m moving more to liking him. Yes he desperately craves attention, but he appears to be a genuine bod.
My impression is that he’s not big on irony and I’m sure he wouldn’t see it at all incongruous to drive an enormous, gas-guzzling US a sixteen-wheeler cab/tractor all the way from Brighton, to protest about the Iraq war. A war that many people feel was carried out to gain control of the oil … to feed the need for vehicles such as his.
