Dhiren Barot Acting Alone

Dhiren Barot, UK-born man who was found with plans to attack targets in the UK and the US has been given a sentanced of at least 40 years in prison.

It’s been reported that the plans were very detailed, but nothing had been carried out. Edmond Lawson QC, prosecuting said uncontradicted evidence suggested “the conspiracy was probably in its final stages”. Note suggested - nothing solid.

If Barot had studied his targets in such detail - and we’ve no reasons to think otherwise - he’s more likely to be mentally disturbed than part of an International terrorism plot in my view.

“Mr Lawson told the sentencing hearing the Crown was unable to say that there was to be an attack carried out within weeks or months,” - or indeed ever.

It’s of significance that the combined powers of the security forces were unable to find any one that Barot had been working with.

Expect the press coverage not to focus on this significant question mark.

Seven other men are facing trial next year accused of being involved in some way with the plot. This was clearly reported in most newspapers.

Oh Bimbo I clearly missed that … I’ve had a little look around again and can’t find reference to what you say.

Can you provide links to the stories please so I can get gened up on that.
