How To Beat Pac Man Video Game
13th July 2007 by Simon
The early video games, because of their technical restrictions - low-powered processor, small amounts of working memory, etc - were based on patterns. Programmers did their best at disguising these, pretty successfully in most cases.
Some people learnt the patterns and were able to transcend ‘normal’ players, clocking up huge scores.
These rules can now be learnt by anyone - thanks to the Internet.
Want to beat Pac Mac? You can if you learn The Ninth Key Pattern.
I’m lucky enough to have a Table Top Scramble machine, so must get around to digging out the equivalent for Scramble. The narrow maze at the end still defeats me, although I used to be able to get through it as a child.
(Amazing, you know I put this posting into draft in March 2004!)
