Cigarette packets with warning photos in Singapore
14th June 2004 by Simon
I’m in Singapore currently for Broadcast Asia 2004 and I saw on the local news that they will be stiffening the health warnings on packets of cigarettes.
Currently 20% of the pack is covered with a health warning, but soon it will be 50%. The top half of the pack will have a photo showing the effect of smoking - diseases organs, rotten gums, etc. Some of them were pretty gruesome, but I wonder how much impact they’re really going to have on the die hard smokers (pun intended - on reflection).
Sadly I’m only here until Thursday, or I’d try and take a photo of a pack.
