The Intelligent Mobile IP idea from Birdstep sound solid and useful.
As you walk from WiFi coverage to Bluetooth via GPRS while browsing/email/eBaying, their software handles the hand over between all of the protocols and providers - without your machine noticing the different.

The totally fantastic looking, sex-on-a-stick, handheld or HipTop, as they’ve christened it, device from UK company Danger has had it’s release date in the US and UK knocked back. It sounds like there’s been a battle-royal between mobile service providers trying to get exclusive rights to the device.
