Ben Haldenby is a very talented follow and a friend from the Island.
In an on-the-spot brain storm, he asked Naomi Klein to sign her latest book, The Shock Doctrine, with “Hands Off Iraq’s Oil!” when she was in London recently.
Being a generous thing, he’s auctioning off the book on eBay for charity - all monies […]

Wow, this is just plain crazy, isn’t it?
Well known skater, Bob Burnquist, has built a rather large skate ramp in his back garden. Sadly you can’t watch it on the page here, but it is worth the click.
If you don’t know Bob … here’s a little taster of his skills

I originally found it a pretty cool idea, but when I realised that my home location was shown, I decided not to use it any more.
Over the last 3-4 months I’ve […]

Hurrah to the Brit, George Atherton, who won the frankly very dangerous looking downhill competition held in Mexico City’s metro.
Watching the footage, you’ll see the riders attacking very steep staircases, without a pause.
They described it as a ’slalom,’ and it covered 70 metres of staircases.

This coming Friday is Domino Day - a new one to me, but apparently it’s been going eight years now.
I love the simple pleasure of watching dominoes fall. I find it magnetic - unable to take my eyes away from it.
19:00 GMT will see an attempt on the World record for the largest number of […]

You know that there’s desperation in the Bush camp when speaking about the levels of violence in Iraq, they have to start blaming it on a desire to “break the will of the American people,” as Cheney just has. If you can’t win fair and square, resort of calling on the peoples patriotism.
Bush and […]

I’ve been troubled for sometime about the fact that airlines now recycle the air within the air planes, and they have done for about ten years. Prior to that, air was taken from the outside and it would pass through the plane, but this was stopped because it was more expensive than recycling.
It’s significantly […]

Attracted by the name, how could this now be My New Fave Rave after reading this?
Why make new music when everyday the industry discharges a discontinuous flow of spoiled idols and reanimated heroes? Re-using fragments from this huge musical garbage dump, it is possible to create new meanings and suddenly catch a glimpse of our […]

Great to see Sky in the UK is Carbon Neutral. Does this include the rocket fuel that’s needed to get the satellites into space?
