The designers of the new BMW 7-series started with a blank piece of paper when they were designing its controls. Peripheral function are selected using the iDrive - a circular joystick-type device which uses force-feedback to assist the driver in their selection. An interesting new direction in car design.

A review with a great title - Linux for people who think an iMac is hard to use of an interesting low-cost (sub-$800) Linux based all-in-one computer - OEone. Given it’s pre-release, it sounds very encouraging.
A bit of digging around also lead me to Everyone Linux a Windows replacement.
