Womb to Tomb (source)

I met with one of the editorial team of a major UK newspaper recently. They’ve got a strong online presence and he had been at a meeting that day with their online team, where they explained a large precentage of their site visits are now coming via blogs rather than people entering the site by typing the main URL in.

This re-enforces my view of the power of Bloggers as Trusted guides. It’s easy for people to feel overwhelmed by the vast amount of information that is on the Web, but as we know within the mass of dross there are some real diamonds and good blogs help identify these. By reading current and previous blog entries, the reader soon knows if this is someone that they identify with and if this continues, they begin to trust this persons recommendations.

It is really important that as blogs become commercialised this is not forgotten by writer and the people behind them.
