Amsterdam for IBC04
8th September 2004 by Simon
I’m in Amsterdam for the build up to IBC, where I’m exec producing the Digital Lifestyles theme day.
I’m staying at the Bilderberg Garden Hotel, which is pleasant enough and in a really lovely part of town - just south of the Nooder Amstelkannal. I walked in to the RAI (exhibition halls) today and the building around here a stunning. The whole area is 1930’s. I’ve uploaded a few of shots of the buldings to Flickr to test my account - their drag and drop upload tool is a revelation after using Buzznet for so long.
Walking back today I came up with the idea of using a bike to get around for the week that I’m here (not a revolutionary idea in Amsterdam I know). I’ve found a few bike rental places that offer unfancy bikes at good weekly prices (around 30 Euro); Bike City, Damstraat Rent A Bike & Mac Bike. The last of which I’ll probably end up using as it’s the closest to the hotel.
