7 December - BBC sacking day?

I’m hearing that there is much quaking at the BBC. There’s strong (unconfirmed) whispers flying around that there will be a lot of people laid off/sacked/fired on 7 December - possibly up to 20% of the staff. Nice - just in time for Xmas.

Incidentally this was the day in 1941 that Japanese planes bomb Pearl Harbour
