It’s seeing footage of old, forgotten TV programmes like this that make me glad that I’ve kept all of my old VHS tapes. Just got to find the time to watch/digitise them now.

Last Friday a UK software engineer was refused the right to board a flight from Australia to the UK. The grounds? He was wearing an anti-Bush T-shirt and it was judged (!) as a terrorist incident.
The offending T-shirt had a photo of George Bush on it and the phrase “World’s #1 Terrorist” written above it. […]

I came across the 1881 Dictionary of Vulgar Tounge, by Captain Grosse, otherwise know by its full title, A dictionary of buckish slang, university wit and pickpocket eloquence.
What a great book, one I’d like to have in the original print.
