Oh joy of joys!
I’ve finally managed to get Plazes off my machine. I can’t tell you how many ways I’ve tried to get it off.
I originally found it a pretty cool idea, but when I realised that my home location was shown, I decided not to use it any more.
Over the last 3-4 months I’ve […]

Given how _massive_ poker is, and that people who play it are obsessed with it. Why has no-one written a client that can be played live on a mobile phone?
There’s just got to be money in that game.
(I really meant to post more often to this (schemes) category, but I’m never near a keyboard when […]

Here’s an interesting video of some software in action that takes a 2D photo and automatically converts it to a 3D image. Looking at the photos they’ve used, it appears that it works by understanding the structure of objects (eg buildings normally have straight edges with right angles on the corners). Clever stuff.

Hurrah to the Brit, George Atherton, who won the frankly very dangerous looking downhill competition held in Mexico City’s metro.
Watching the footage, you’ll see the riders attacking very steep staircases, without a pause.
They described it as a ’slalom,’ and it covered 70 metres of staircases.

This coming Friday is Domino Day - a new one to me, but apparently it’s been going eight years now.
I love the simple pleasure of watching dominoes fall. I find it magnetic - unable to take my eyes away from it.
19:00 GMT will see an attempt on the World record for the largest number of […]

I chaired a couple of sessions at the W3C conference in Edinburgh this year and the videos have now hit the Net. This one has my short intro in to the state of the change in the world of media, followed by the presentation of Daniel Harris of Kendra, who also put the sessions together.
(Sorry […]
