Sal has just pointed out that I’m very shallow for subscribing to PopBitch - saying it’s the equivalent to buying Hello magazine (which 10 years ago, in my corporate finance days at Credit Lyonnais days, I did).
She’s right.
As of today, I’ll consider myself unsubscribed.

I love Geodesic domes, and the idea […]

I’m proud to report that one of the Digital-Lifestyles subscribers is with New North Networks. It’s not an ISP that I’d come across, probably for good reason - they service Alaska!
Looking them up on Google maps, I was stunned to see the satellite images look like a geography book, with huge swaths of white.
They’ve got […]

The first two groups were banned under new laws outlawing the glorification of terrorism by the home secretary, John Reid, today.
The Saved Sect (Wikipedia) and Al Ghurabaa (Wikipedia).
Interesting to see on The Saved Sect that “Copyright is prohibited in Islam.”

I can see lots more of this coming along in the near future. Stop frame animation is relatively simple with the technology that’s available these days. All it’s going to take is the creative spark and patience.

A great example of the use of footage being re-purposed to create new content - you know, mashup style.
If DRM comes into force of course, you won’t see any creativity like this. Doesn’t seem right really when you look at it like that does it? Tell me, who’d be missing out financially by this being […]

Clearly putting itself across as real, but it may well be CG‘d.
As video manipulation tools and skills get in to more hands, we’ll be able to automatically trust footage less and less.
All the same, very dramatic, heightened by the sheer amount of different types of moving object including unprotected pedestrians.
Perfect short-form video content - bound […]
