I’m running a Mac iBook at the moment and am a convert to Google’s Gmail. I’m using it as my mail client now, forwarding all of my accounts to Gmail.
I’ve also been running the Gmail Notifier, which has frankly not been used that heavily by me.
Given one of the biggest strengths of Gmail is the […]

Last September, a 23 year old man, Subhaan Younis, showed a piece of video on his mobile phone to someone working in a shop in Glasgow.
He was found guilty of a breach of the peace just over a month ago. Today […]

BT Openreach - A Sham

Steve Kennedy has written a great piece on Digital-Lifestyles where he strips the away the hype from the formation of BT OpenReach, the company that is supposed to make LLU a more level playing field in the UK.
The lack of LLU competition (letting other companies apart from BT put their equipment in local exchanges, […]

Satellite broadband

I noticed Guy had written a pieces about Satellite broadband, so felt compelled to write a comment about my experience with it.
About 3 months ago I had a portable DSL satellite in on test (I won’t name it as I’m a generous soul). It was a sexy looking, laptop-sized number.
After a considerable time battling […]

we@berlin, 3 weeks late

Alexander and Swetlana were showing me around Berlin at night about three weeks ago. One of the things they pointed out was we@Berlin, a kiosk which let you take photos of yourself/friends and email them for free.
Having just received the email with attached photos today - you can understand why it might be free. How […]

Ben Wilson Design

I received an email from Ben Wilson about his new show, CarpetFixation, which servered as a reminder to re-look at his site and designs.
He has strong ideas that use recent automated production techniques enabling the relatively simple production of items such as his ChairFix. It’s a totally flatpack chair, routed out of a single sheet […]

And you thought Gmail was a boon, getting initially 1Gb of storage, now 2.6Gb and climbing. Felt huge didn’t it, but now they’ve been severly trumpted by MailNation, which now offer 1 Terrabyte (Tb) of storage.
OK, so the interface isn’t up to gmail, but that’s a hell of a lot of storage.
I’ve grabbed an account, […]
